MAPPING YOUR ROAD TO WELLNESS

Kellie Rice

LET'S GO

Integrative Nutritional Counseling

“Functional Medicine is medicine by cause, not by symptom. Functional Medicine practitioners don’t, in fact, treat disease, we treat your body’s ecosystem.  We get rid of the bad stuff, put in the good stuff, and because your body is an intelligent system - it does the rest”

- Dr. Mark Hyman

Telehealth Nutritional Counseling

We are complex, but vey adaptable and self healing beings.  That being said, we are not meant to sustain the high levels of stress and toxic load, both internal and external, that we are exposed to on a daily basis.  As a result, we are seeing record breaking incidences of cancer, depression, auto immune disease, and stress related chronic illnesses. These are clear signs our intelligent bodies are sending us to make a change.

Functional medicine is an intricate, systems biology-based approach that focuses on uncovering the root causes rather than symptom management. Every condition or diagnosis can have several root causes. Those roots causes can, in turn, cause a cascade of other conditions if not treated from a root level approach. The way this manifests in the body is different for everyone as it is dependent on the individuals genetic structure, environment, past experiences and exposures, and current lifestyle. Once the underlying causes are found and removed, the body’s normal healing mechanisms can be supported to restore true health.

The approaches of Functional Medicine are evidence based and focus on a thorough lifespan assessment, nutrition, exercise, and reducing stress and toxic exposures. ((I recognize where our modern medical system falls short in promoting “chronic wellness” and whole, patient-centered care.))

Conditions that may benefit from a functional medicine approach:

Depression, anxiety, adrenal fatigue, cardiovascular disease, aging, allergies, food sensitivities and intolerances, autoimmune diseases, PCOS, diabetes, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, infertility, disordered eating, chronic pain, migraines, eczema & psoriasis, weight gain

Transformational Nutrition

Telehealth Counseling

Transformational Nutrition coaching is a method of highly personalized nutrition that works in tandem with approaches like functional and integrative medicine to explore and uncover root causes of issues, appreciating the uniqueness of the individual. This approach focuses on the biological, psychological and spiritual aspects of one’s life to create a personalized plan to optimal health and wellness. Education on the life changing power of real food nutrition combined with a mind-body awareness is the cornerstone of holistic health coaching.
