Michael Luetkens, LPC, ATR
Psychotherapist & Art Therapist
Have you been struggling to find a safe place to share your thoughts and feelings? As your therapist, I am devoted to maintaining cultural competency about minority stress and discrimination while also acknowledging the larger systems of power and oppression within our society. At times it can be difficult to verbalize our experiences and emotions. By utilizing art making in session, the body can reconnect with the brain and integrate emotion throughout the creative process. While engaging in this process can be intimidating, I will walk alongside you as we cultivate a space of vulnerability and learn to dismiss inner criticisms that no longer serve you.
Your healing journey can begin today. I would be honored to get the chance to bear witness to your healing while providing guidance, support, compassion, and laughter as we explore the path ahead.
I graduated from Adler University with a MA in Art therapy and Counseling, qualifying me as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Provisional Art Therapist. I have experience practicing both talk and art therapy in a community mental health and family based setting. My work has involved helping those who have struggled with parenting, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar disorders, in addition to those grappling with gender and sexuality as well as other identity related issues.
