Given today’s climate it makes sense why you may feel alone, tense, and looking to make some changes. Do you feel like it’s difficult to take a breath? Are you noticing your body responding to the events happening around you? Do you feel unsafe in your own body? You could even be noticing behaviors that no longer serve you, creeping back into your daily routine.
I promise you that you aren’t alone in feeling this way. You are more resilient and creative than you think, and the proof is in how you took a moment to care for yourself and research your treatment options. I became a dance movement therapist and counselor because I know what it feels like to want to let go of the behaviors and thoughts that no longer serve me and to create a better me a little more each day. I have learned that recovery is a process that keeps on giving.
I truly believe DMT can help individuals develop a new relationship with themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually through establishing a new relationship to movement and their bodies. You can reclaim your power by being able to listen to bodily cues, gain a compassionate lens, learn to release shame and judgement, and increase interpersonal skills.
I am hopeful to use my movement knowledge to help aid individuals in being in their body in a way that feels good for them. I am committed to helping you define what your best self can be.
I have a graduate degree from Columbia Chicago, a Master’s in Dance Movement Therapy and counseling. I also hold a second Master’s degree in Communication from Northwestern University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a registered dance movement therapist. I have experience working in residential treatment centers in areas of mood , trauma, addiction, alcoholism, eating disorders, grief, and codependency.
