Sarwar Khan, BSN
Have you struggled to find mental health professionals that understand your circumstances, values, and goals? Have you felt unheard and rushed at previous sessions with mental health professionals? My philosophy of care is to create a supportive environment where clients are encouraged to share their thoughts and feel genuinely heard.
My name is Sarwar Khan, and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. As a graduate student I have a wide range of interests including social determinants of mental health, neuropsychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and solution-focused therapy. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BSN from Loyola University Chicago. I have worked in adult inpatient psychiatry, and am currently working on a child and adolescent unit in Highland Park, Illinois. I have been involved in the care of patients receiving psychiatric services for many conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, and thought disorders. I am excited to be a part of Mind Body Co-op’s mission to provide holistic care that includes therapy, physical wellness, and medication management.
