Queer-Affirming Therapist in Chicago

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy in Chicago

As a queer-affirming therapist in Chicago, I offer a compassionate, human-first space to reconnect with yourself—especially when life feels uncertain or overwhelming. At the core of my work is a human-first lens guided by empathy. It is also informed by my own lived experience and understanding of mental health struggles. Importantly, I approach this work with deep respect for the real emotional pain that brings people to therapy. Healing can feel and look “messy” at times. However, I remain committed to supporting you through that process.

Struggling does not mean you are broken or incapable of healing.
It often means something important within you needs care, understanding, and space to be heard.

Neurodivergent Affirming Therapist in Chicago

I primarily work with adults and also enjoy working with teenagers and adolescents. In practice, the concerns I most often support include anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and low self-esteem. Additionally, I frequently work with identity exploration, life transitions, perfectionism, mood instability, and relationship or social difficulties. As a queer and neurodivergent clinician, I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. I also enjoy supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with diagnosed or suspected ADHD and/or autism. Furthermore, I have experience supporting individuals in polyamorous and other ethically non-monogamous relationships.

Affirming Therapy for Identity and Relationships

Authenticity is central to my work. For this reason, I strive to create a space where you do not have to perform or over-explain yourself. You also do not need to hide parts of who you are in order to be accepted. I believe healing begins when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. As a result, clients are often able to unmask and show up as themselves. Additionally, I welcome humor, creativity, and shared interests into the therapy space. These elements support connection, self-expression, and growth.

Trauma-Informed LGBTQIA+ Therapy in Chicago

I hold a B.S. in Psychology from Indiana University Bloomington and am currently completing an M.A. in Counseling at Northwestern University. My approach is trauma-informed and humanistic. It draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based practices. Importantly, I remain attentive to the ways family systems and culture shape our experiences. Identity and broader social contexts also influence self-understanding. Together, we will work to harness your values and strengths. As a queer-affirming therapist in Chicago, my goal is to guide you toward self-compassion, clarity, and meaningful change.
