Pronouns – She/Her/Hers
Starting the journey toward better mental health takes courage, and finding someone who truly gets your experience makes all the difference. As a Black, Afro-Caribbean woman, mother, and psychiatric nurse practitioner student, I offer warm, trauma-informed medication management for adults who are ready to feel supported, seen, and understood.
Culturally responsive psychiatric care in Chicago
Growing up rooted in Afro-Caribbean culture, I understand the particular weight of navigating mental health within diaspora communities, where stigma runs deep, self-reliance is celebrated, and asking for help can feel like a contradiction of everything you were raised to be. Many of the clients I feel most called to work with have spent years in spaces where they had to over-explain themselves, shrink their experience, or simply go without care that truly reflected who they are. That changes here. Your story matters, and it will always be received with care and respect.
You are in the driver’s seat
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to tell you what your healing should look like. It is to walk alongside you as you figure that out for yourself. Together we will explore your options, weigh what feels right, and build a care plan that actually fits your life. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, or ADHD, we move at your pace and in your direction.
Meeting you where you are
Before psychiatry, I worked in intensive care, street outreach, and community health, settings that taught me that people are remarkably resilient, and that the best thing a provider can do is show up without judgment and follow your lead. As a woman and a mother, I also know what it means to carry the needs of others while quietly setting your own aside. If that resonates, you are in the right place.
Education and background
I am a registered nurse and Doctor of Nursing Practice student at the University of Michigan-Flint, with a clinical focus in psychiatric mental health. I see patients in person at our Lakeview location and via telehealth throughout Illinois.
