Access to quality and compassionate mental health care remains a critical need in Chicago, one of the most diverse cities in the country, where individuals from a wide range of cultural, social, and personal backgrounds navigate unique challenges that can affect their emotional well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life. Growing up in and serving diverse communities has reinforced my belief that effective mental health care begins with recognizing that culture, identity, family dynamics, and life experiences play an important role in shaping a person’s mental health and treatment experience. Throughout my career in psychiatry, I have witnessed the profound impact that feeling heard, understood, and supported can have on a person’s healing. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student completing my clinical internship at Mind Body Co-Op, I am committed to providing evidence-based care that combines clinical knowledge with genuine human connection.

My nursing journey began with earning an Associate Degree in Nursing from Oakton College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois Chicago. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing at Ohio University with a specialization as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Over the past four years, I have worked as a psychiatric registered nurse in an inpatient behavioral health setting, caring for individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions. In addition to my inpatient experience, my clinical training has included outpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) settings, providing me with a broad understanding of the mental health care continuum and the diverse needs of individuals at different stages of treatment and recovery.

My professional interests include anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, trauma-related conditions, and mood disorders. I am particularly interested in the complex relationship between mental health and life transitions, as well as the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence emotional well-being. My approach to care emphasizes collaboration, education, and helping individuals develop the tools and confidence needed to navigate life’s challenges. One of the most meaningful aspects of psychiatry for me is learning about the experiences that have shaped each person’s life and helping them move toward the future they want for themselves. Whether someone is navigating a new diagnosis, adjusting to a major life change, or working toward long-term stability, I strive to meet patients where they are and create a supportive environment that fosters resilience and meaningful change.

Outside of work and school, I enjoy staying active through fitness, exploring Chicago’s diverse food scene, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. These experiences remind me of the importance of balance, connection, and self-care and influence the way I approach my work with patients each day.
