    Individual Psychotherapist & Couples Counselor

It’s so easy to get stuck in unhelpful patterns in your relationships. You may be struggling with navigating conflict with your partner, communicating effectively, or even getting past recent infidelity. Whatever it is, I’m here to help.

I love working with couples in their 30’s who struggle with managing career stress while feeling connected in their relationship, as well as couples struggling with cycles of high stress and conflict.  As a Level 3 Gottman-trained couples therapist I can help you and your partner improve your communication and navigate conflict better. We will work together to get you through the rough patches in your relationship and come out better on the other side. I primarily use my Gottman Method training in my couples work, although I also draw on training from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Relational Life Therapy (RFT).

In my individual therapy work, I help with issues related to anxiety, depression, substance use, and trauma. My goal is to collaborate with you to find a clear path through the problems you are experiencing in life and help you feel better, no matter what stage you are in now.  My therapeutic style is active– I will lead with compassion but also challenge you when you need it. Together we will also practice real skills you can use outside of our sessions. In sessions, I draw from a blend of Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) mixed with mindfulness and humor. As a male-identified therapist who has had his own struggles finding a therapist with my identity, I love working with men struggling with issues like trauma, anger, depression and anxiety.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked for 10 years in the technology world and also worked for as a personal trainer. In my free time I love doing anything outside – hiking, riding my bike, kayaking, or just playing with my dogs.

I graduated with a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University in Chicago and a B.A. in International and Global Studies from Sewanee: The University of the South. I’m also a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sport Medicine and a certified yoga breathing coach through The Yoga Teacher’s College.
